A HEREFORDSHIRE church is up for sale after it was forced to close after becoming "financially unviable".
The Methodist Chapel in Ross-on-Wye's Edde Cross Street was closed in August after a vote of the local ecumenical partnership for Christ Church in Ross-on-Wye, a partnership between the United Reformed and Methodist churches.
It is now being offered for sale by agents Richard Butler and Associates for £250,000.
The chapel, which was purpose-built in the 1970s, is just minutes away from the town centre includes a main hall with a high ceiling, parquet flooring, high windows to the sides, and plenty of lights and power points, a secondary smaller area, storage room, office, bathrooms, fitted kitchen, and board room.
It is no longer required for its former use as a church, but would be suitable for a range of alternative community uses, Richard Butler and Associates said.
The agents said the sale is currently restricted to purchasers wishing to use the building for community services only, with further information available from the agent or Herefordshire Council.
