A FISH and chip shop in Herefordshire will no longer be opening in the afternoons as rising energy prices put it under pressure.
The Fish House in Moreton-on-Lugg said it was sorry to announce the news.
Zac Zachariou and his fiancee Leftie Charalambous bought the Old School House shop in the village in April and were looking to pool their expertise and pour it into their new business
Mr Zachariou has experience in running fish and chip shops and has owned two in his native South Yorkshire, while Leftie is part of the family that run Dimarcos fish restaurant in Leominster.

The chip shop used to open in the daytime, but now the opening hours are Tuesday to Thursday 4pm to 9pm, Friday to Saturday 4.30pm to 9pm, and on Sunday it is closed.
"We've tried our hardest to keep it open, however due to it just not being busy enough, staff shortages and the rises in cost we believe it will be better to focus on our late afternoon and evening shifts," said the couple.
They hope their customers will understand, they said.
