A WOMAN working to save wild animals in Herefordshire saved a buzzard after it was caught in a football net.
Co-founder of Herefordshire Wildlife Rescue Dr Sasha Norris found the bird in the goals at Aylestone School.
“He is now back home after being checked over and bed and breakfasted with Jacqui Mayne at Herefordshire Wildlife Rescue,” she said.

“I released him or her with the finder Jamie Price who is also my son’s brilliant PT teacher and friend.”
Mr Price helped Ms Mayne over the high fencing at the school, which they had permission to do, by offering his body and used a top to cover the buzzard, so it did not panic.
“The buzzard flew confidently into his home tree and was greeted by his family,” said Dr Norris.
