HEREFORD petrol stations have dropped prices by nearly 10p after being considerably higher than independents.

BP, on The Straight Mile in Rotherwas, had been the most expensive place for fuel for some time in Hereford.

But since last week (September 6), it has dropped the price of its petrol by eight pence from 174.9p per litre to 166.9p.

Asda dropped its price by seven pence from 165.7p to 158.7p and Sainsbury’s by six pence from 165.5p to 159.9p.

This has brought supermarkets prices to a similar level to Herefordshire’s independent petrol stations.
