AN UNLIKELY animal was found on a dog walking route in a Herefordshire town.
Les Tucker, of Ross-on-Wye, was walking his dalmatian along their usual route when he spotted something out of the blue.
What he thought to be a polecat was in the middle of the path in Penyard Lane, in Ross, where the trail crosses, yesterday morning (September 21).
“It tried to nip my wife's ankles,” he said.

When he posted it on the Facebook group Ross-on-Wye notice board people thought it might be a ferret lost from its owner if it was friendly enough to come up to Mr Tucker.
Martin Matthews said a ferret had been caught at his work yesterday and was taken to the vet.
He and others commenting believe it is thought to be the same animal as the path runs next to where he works.
