POLICE are stopping every car travelling on a main Herefordshire road as they investigate a three-vehicle crash which killed a motorcyclist.

Delays have been reported on the A417 at Burley Gate, near Bromyard, as police officers stop every car to ask about the fatal crash.

Officers were spotted at the scene at around 4.30pm on Tuesday (September 27).

The crash happened at around 4.25pm on Friday (September 23) on the A417 between Leominster and Ledbury, West Mercia Police said.

It said a motorcycle and two other vehicles, a white Fiat box van and a white Mini Cooper, crashed between Burley Gate and Maund Bryan.

The rider of the grey Triumph Street Triple motorcycle, a 59-year-old man, suffered significant injuries and he died at the scene despite medics' best efforts.

Police said his family and next of kin have been informed.

Sergeant Bob Conway from the Herefordshire operational patrol unit (OPU) said anyone with dashcam footage from the A417 between Hope-under-Dinmore and Newtown Cross, the junction with the A4103 Hereford to Worcester road, between 4pm and 5pm on Friday should contact police.

He said police were also keen to speak to anyone who lives along the road who may have CCTV or a doorbell camera which might have pictures of the main road.
