RICHARD Hammond's Hereford car business must start making money or else it could go bust, a TV company has warned.
Richard Hammond’s car restoration business, based in Rotherwas, is filmed as part of a discovery+ TV show which returns with a new series next month.
The original docuseries follows Hammond, who lives at Weston-under-Penyard near Ross-on-Wye, fulfilling his lifelong ambition to build and run a classic car restoration and repair workshop.

The first season saw him set the business up, alongside automotive "wonder-family" Neil, Anthony and Andrew Greenhouse, who previously worked at a garage in Allensmore.
But ahead of the new series, discovery+ said that after almost a year of trading, the business, The Smallest Cog, has become a money pit.
It said that the business is still not turning a profit and if it doesn't break even soon, there’s a "real chance" it "may go bust".

But Hammond is determined to turn his dream into a thriving business and has come up with ambitious plans.
He initially funded the business by selling a number of cars and motorbikes from his vast collection.

The all-new episodes will see the team get a crash course in racing; watch as Hammond's wife Mindy investigates his business management skills and try and impress prospective clients at a high-end car event, all while Richard takes on his biggest challenge yet – teaching daughter Willow to drive.
Striving to learn the business from the ground up while putting his money and reputation on the line, Hammond and the team hope to continue to wheel in an exciting range of vintage classic cars to restore to glory and finally start making some money.

With his inimitable sense of humour and mischievousness, discovery+ said the series is not your traditional motoring show.
"A window into not only Richard’s new business but his life and family, the new episodes bring even more access and insight into the trials and tribulations of a car restoration start-up, but also the colourful characters who Richard has roped in to support him and the everyday antics at the workshop," it said.
Richard Hammond’s Workshop series two will premiere exclusively on discovery+ on Monday, October 17.
