A FIRE crew has been called to investigate reports of an explosion and fire in a village near Hereford.
Peterchurch Fire Station, in the Golden Valley, was in the early hours of the morning (Thursday, September 29) to Kingstone, near Hereford.
It said at 1.46am it received reports of "explosions and trees on fire" near an electricity pylon transformer at a property in the village.

It then handed over to National Grid, formerly Western Power Distribution, to carry out a repair to the system.
National Grid said 1.54am that there was a power cut affecting homes and businesses in the HR2 postcode area and it aimed to restore supplies by 3am.

In an update shortly after 3am, it said some supplies had been restored and all would be by 8am.
Then, shortly before 9am this morning, it said all supplies were restored and apologised for any inconvenience caused by the power cut.
The retained fire crew then returned to the station to clean the engine off and head home to sleep.
