FAMOUS singer Tom Jones has described Hereford as “lovely” in the ITV prime-time TV programme.
Herefordshire singer Jake Gamble, whose stage name is Jake of Diamonds, was recognised on ITV’s Voice UK on Saturday, September 24, for his talents.
The 28-year-old wowed the judges Will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones, Anne Marie and Olly Murs with his original song, "Words".
The show's concept is indicated by its title: the coaches do not judge the artists by their looks, personalities, stage presence or dance routine but just their vocal ability.

If a coach likes what they hear, a button-press allows their chair to spin around and face the performer, signifying that they would like to mentor them.
If more than one does so, then the artist selects a coach.
Mr Gamble had Sir Tom Jones and Olly Murs turn around in their chairs and chose the legendary 82-year-old Welsh singer to be his mentor in the next round of the competition.
Sir Jones was delighted when Mr Gamble said he worked in a brewery, showing an excited smile.
When Mr Gamble said he was from Hereford Sir Tom noted it is right round the corner from his home country of Wales.
