A HEREFORDSHIRE student has appeared in court after taking part in a protest in Essex.
Cressida Gethin was found guilty of one charge of obstructing or disrupting a person engaged in a legal activity by magistrates in Chelmsford after previously entering a not guilty plea.
The court heard the 20-year-old had trespassed on land, namely Terminal London Road in Grays, Essex, and climbed on to pipework at a height at a pumping station in the road with the intent of disrupting the storage and transportation of fuel on April 11.
Gethin, who is of Dorstone, Herefordshire, was handed a 12-month conditional discharge and must pay costs of £300 and a £22 victim surcharge.
The court ordered she be deprived of d-locks and super glue belonging to her.

The site in Essex was hit by eco-protesters from campaign group Just Stop Oil in April, with hundreds arrested after locking themselves on to pipework and hampering access to oil terminals, demanding that the Government stop new fossil fuel projects.
Hundreds were arrested during the days-long protest, which targeted oil supplies at various depots in Essex.
