A HEREFORDSHIRE thief has been jailed after stealing two Lazy Spas and an egg chair from a Morrisons supermarket and driving while banned from the roads.

Naheed Plumridge entered guilty pleas to five charges when he appeared before magistrates in Kidderminster.

The court heard the 48-year-old had stolen a Lazy Spa worth £300 from Leominster's Barons Cross Road Morrisons supermarket on May 10, a second Lazy Spa worth £300 from the same supermarket on May 16, and an egg chair worth £275 from the same supermarket on May 24.

OTHER NEWS:

Plumridge had also been caught driving a grey Vauxhall Astra without an insurance policy in force and while disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence on the A49 at Brimfield, near Leominster, on March 23.

Plumridge, who is of Churchill Avenue, Leominster, was ordered to pay compensation of £600 to Morrisons PLC and jailed for a total of 34 weeks as the offences were committed while he was subject to a suspended sentence and due to his previous record of offending.

He was also disqualified from driving for 18 months with a four-month extension period. No order for prosecution costs was made to allow compensation to take priority.
