A THIEF has been jailed after repeatedly stealing from Herefordshire shops.
Shane Evans entered guilty pleas to six charges when he appeared before magistrates in Kidderminster.
The court heard the 34-year-old had stolen a fire pit worth £175 from Leominster's Barons Cross Supermarket on May 16 and a barbecue worth £275 from the same supermarket on June 14.
He had also stolen a bottle of wine worth £9.99 from Leominster's Applegreen Garage on August 5, and two cases of Coca-Cola, worth £10 from Leominster's Morrisons on August 31.
He had further stolen eight children's coats, worth £160, from Leominster's Morrisons supermarket on September 13, and three bottles of champagne, worth £91, from The Co-operative supermarket in Leominster's Dishley Street on September 25.

Magistrates said Evans, who is of Portna Way, Leominster, has a flagrant disregard for court orders and that there has been a wilful and persistent failure to comply with his community order, and jailed him for 10 weeks. He must also pay a £128 victim surcharge.
No compensation or prosecution costs were ordered as a custodial sentence has been imposed.
