A HEREFORDSHIRE man has been jailed after taking a trip to Cornwall without telling probation.
Mitchell Starkey admitted one count of failing to comply with the requirements of his post-custodial supervision when he appeared before magistrates in Worcester.
The court heard the 25-year-old had failed without reasonable excuse to comply with the supervision requirements imposed following his release from a period of imprisonment.
Starkey had been instructed to attend the Hereford Housing Solutions team office on July 29 whilst at his probation initial appointment, but had failed to go, the court was told.

He also failed to keep an appointment with Hereford Probation on August 1.
He has licence conditions to reside permanently at an address approved by his supervisor, and to obtain their permission for any stay of one or more nights at another address, and to keep in touch with his supervisor in accordance with their instructions.
The court heard Starkey had been at large in Cornwall and had not told probation.
Starkey, of Dry Thistle Close, Bromyard, was jailed for 10 days for the offence.
