A WOMAN was caught drink-driving in a Herefordshire town after trying a cocktail for the first time, a court has heard.
Megan Slattery entered a guilty plea to one charge of drink-driving when she appeared before magistrates in Hereford.
Police in a marked car had stopped Slattery, who was behind the wheel of a Peugeot 106, in Ross-on-Wye's Wilton Road at 10.55pm on September 10, prosecutor Mark Hambling said.
She was arrested after failing a roadside breath test and taken to Hereford custody, where an evidential breath test revealed she had 46 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Philip Cornell, for Slattery, said the 37-year-old mother lives on her own with her children and has recently moved out of Ross town.
"The effect of the disqualification will be really pretty awful," Mr Cornell said.
The court heard Slattery has back problems which make it difficult for her to walk long distances, which will make school runs difficult, and also helps with transport for family members who do not drive.
Mr Cornell said She and others had gone out for a cocktail that evening after a family member had gone into labour and they were waiting for news.
"She had one cocktail and was totally amazed that she was over the limit as she had never had a cocktail before," Mr Cornell said.
Slattery, who is of Swallow Road, Ross, was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £120. She must also pay costs of £135 and a £48 victim surcharge.
