THE speed limit on a main road near Hereford will be slashed from 60mph to just 20mph so roadworks can be carried out.
Herefordshire Council said the speed limit would have to be cut on the A4110 Canon Pyon Road for five days from tomorrow (Thursday).
It means vehicles will be restricted to 20mph from the edge of the 40mph zone just north of Roman Road, Hereford, for 0.8 miles to the crossroads for Lower Bewdley Bank.

A public notice said the restriction was needed due to drainage works on or near the road and the likelihood of danger to the public during that time.
The speed limit for that stretch of road is usually 60mph.
