A BUILDING housing a Thai restaurant and a masseuse near Hereford's iconic cathedral is up for sale.

The building in Hereford's King Street is on the market with agents Sunderlands for £395,000.

The Palace Chambers building, which is home to The Thai Garden restaurant, is set in the former Wathens sweet shop, has an income of around £40,000 per annum, scope for alternative uses, and fronts on to the popular street, Sunderlands said.

The restaurant is unaffected by the sale, which is of the building housing it.

Sunderlands said 3-3a King Street is a large prominent building comprising painted block elevations beneath a pitched tiled roof, with attractive shop fronts at ground floor level and a number of attractive period features.

The building has three access points, one into 3 King Street, which offers an open plan restaurant dining area, and is internally linked to 3a, which offers a further open plan dining area to the front with kitchen and storage areas to the rear.

Outside is a garden with a small outbuilding housing a chiller associated with the restaurant.

The upper floors of the property are accessed via the central door directly off King Street, Sunderlands said.

Upstairs on the first floor is an office-type room overlooking King Street, with a storage room and dedicated kitchen and toilet, which is currently used by a masseuse.

The property also includes two residential flats, both with one bedroom, one on the first floor and one on the second floor.

The second floor flat has scope for a second bedroom and has storage space on the third floor, the agents said.
