A WOMAN escaped from a car as it burst into flames on a major Herefordshire road.
A car was on fire on the A40 Westbound between Whitchurch and Monmouth, where it had crashed into a wall, said a spokesperson from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue service.
A number of police cars and ambulance were seen heading towards the scene with blue lights from Hereford.
Crews from Whitchurch fire station, along with a South Wales Fire and Rescue service crew from Monmouth fire station, at 7.28pm yesterday (October 23).

The people inside the car had got themselves out but the car was well alight when firefighters got to the scene.
It was extinguished using a hose reel jet by two firefighters wearing special breathing equipment.
Ganarew Road and the A40 were closed by police and a woman in her 20s was handed over to the care of the ambulance service.
The crash was cleared by 9.17pm.
