A TOWN council says work is continuing to tackle drivers "ignoring" restrictions after a Tesco lorry became wedged in a tiny lane.
The A438 in Ledbury was left shut for several hours on Tuesday evening after the articulated Tesco lorry became stuck as it tried to exit Knapp Lane.
The tiny lane, which joins the Homend a short distance from Ledbury Train Station, has a 3.5-tonne weight limit, except for access.

The town centre is also covered by a 7.5-tonne weight limit, except again for access.
It is not yet clear how the Tesco lorry came to be stuck down the lane covered by the weight limit, but the supermarket chain, with a shop in Ledbury, has been contacted for comment.
Ledbury Town Council said it was aware that vehicles that exceed the permitted weight limits "regularly ignore road signs" telling drivers not to enter the town centre.

It said that while this does not fall under the remit of the town council, it is working with West Mercia Police and Herefordshire Council's highways department on ways improved signage could be provided.

This, the town council said, should "avoid such incidents as this happening in the future".
"We would ask that if you witness artic vehicles, or heavy tractors travelling through the town unnecessarily and you are able to get photographic evidence, that you share this with us so that we can work with local companies in making sure their drivers are aware of the rules and avoid the town centre wherever possible," a town council spokesperson said.
West Mercia Police urged drivers to find another route until the road reopened late on Tuesday evening.
