DRIVERS have been told to take a 17-mile diversion as a main road in Herefordshire shuts for seven days.
Herefordshire Council said there was due to drainage works on the B4347 at Eywas Harold later this month (November).
But due to the B-road closing, the official diversion for drivers affected will be around 17.5 miles.

This is due to the need for diversions needing to be on the same class road as the one which is shut.
The B4347, which connects the A465 Hereford to Abergavenny road with the B4348 at Vowchurch, goes through Ewyas Harold and Abbey Dore.
And for seven days from Wednesday, November 30, the road will be closed between Springetts Lane to the A465, outside the property Glen Alva, Herefordshire Council said.

So for that small stretch of road to be closed, drivers have been told they will need to head up the A465 to Allensmore and then take the B4348 before rejoining the B4347 at Vowchurch.
The closure, Herefordshire Council said, was needed due to the drainage works and the likelihood of danger to the public.
