TWO Herefordshire wedding venues are the most popular in the UK, according to a leading wedding planning website.
Hitched.co.uk has revealed the 10 most popular venues for 2023, with Herefordshire venues featuring strongly in the list.
In first place was Brinsop Court Manor House and Barn in Herefordshire.
2022 saw Brinsop Court bumped up a whopping seven places from last year to become the UK’s number one venue for 2023.
The historic estate features a 12th century moated manor house, over 800 acres of ancient woodland, and a new, modern event barn.
Inside the manor are three ceremony rooms, bursting with character and history. The banqueting hall has a vaulted ceiling, oak floor and a large fireplace filled with candles to serve as the focal point for your ceremony. The Elizabethan library is a room with a rich history for a heartfelt vow exchange, and the elegant Queen Anne dining room offers beautiful views across the Wordsworth lawn.
Weddings and special events manager at Brinsop Court Manor House and Barn, Daisy Bishop said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be included in the Hitched top 10 most popular venues! As one of the most popular wedding resources online at the moment we are delighted to be considered amongst the best venues and to receive such amazing reviews from all our couples!
“We really do emphasise how important it is to have ‘your wedding, your way’ and with so many different options here at Brinsop it makes it easy for everyone to have the best day ever!”

In second place was Bredenbury Court Barns, also in Herefordshire.
The spectacular Atrium at Bredenbury leads into the airy, 1920s orangery - the perfect place to exchange your vows, Hitched said. Then it is time to wine, dine and dance in the rustic oak barn, an atmospheric oak-timbered barn with panoramic views over the gorgeous grounds and beyond to the Malverns. You can reportedly see for 12 miles!
The next eight venues were Dodford Manor, Northamptonshire, Farnham Castle, Surrey, The Ashes Barns and Country House, Staffordshire, The Mills Barns, Shropshire, Pembroke Lodge, Surrey, North Mymms Park, Hertfordshire, Merrydale Manor, Cheshire, and Colshaw Hall, Cheshire.
Zoe Burke, leading wedding expert and editor of Hitched.co.uk said: “When it comes to planning the wedding of your dreams, there’s no such thing as ‘too much choice’. It’s great to see such a wealth of vendors available to nearlyweds across the UK, especially after such a challenging few years.
“The wedding industry is so unlike any other wedding industry in the UK - the relationship couples build with their chosen suppliers and venue is so personal and special, so it’s heartening to see that there are plenty to choose from across the UK, especially for northern and Scottish couples.
“We’ve been saying for some time that the wedding industry has come back with a bang, and this data proves it!”
