A FARMER has been awarded for his special skills by his college in Herefordshire.
The George Clive Award for best forestry student at the Holme Lacy Campus of Hereford, Ludlow and North Shropshire College has been presented to Jack Williams.
Mr Williams is from a farming background. He has been completing a Level 2 Forestry Operative apprenticeship attached to the Whitfield Estate (RFS member) near Hereford.
The George Clive Award is presented annually by the Herefordshire division to the most conscientious student in recognition of the noted forester George Clive.

His award includes a Zubat Silky Fox Handsaw generously donated by James Davenport.
The presentation was made by Nick Smith, RFS Herefordshire Chair, during an RFS visit to Holme Lacy Estate woodlands.
First and second year forestry and arb students joined RFS Members for the visit.
Interesting and engaging discussions were led by forestry lecturers Judith Webb MBE, Sara Roberts and Lu Mason.
