Herefordshire Council said it is going to be carrying out drainage works on the main road near Ross-on-Wye, and for safety reasons, the speed limit needs to be slashed.

Herefordshire Council said the speed restriction on the B4229, connecting the A40 to Kerne Bridge through Goodrich, would be between Old Ford Bridge to the B4234.
That is the road which runs from Ross-on-Wye to Kerne Bridge.

The speed limit for the road is usually 60mph, but for the duration of the works, nine days, it would need to be 20mph, the council said.
The restriction, coming into force on December 5, is needed due to the works and the likelihood of danger to the public while they're taking place, it added.
