A BURGLAR has been sentenced after stealing from Hereford shops and damaging a pub room.
Thomas Hartland appeared before magistrates in Hereford for sentencing in November after one charge of burglary, one of theft, and one of causing criminal damage to property at an earlier hearing.
The court heard from prosecutor Paul John that the 34-year-old had entered Hereford Music shop as a trespasser and with intent to steal, causing damage and stealing items including a guitar worth a total of £1,100 on October 17.
He had also stolen a black Boss bobble hat and three pairs of white Lacoste socks worth a total of £82.99 from Sports Direct in Hereford on October 17.

He had further caused £505 worth of criminal damage to a television, a mirror, and the carpet within a hotel room at the Black Swan in Leominster on October 16.
Hartland, who is of Grantham Close, Hereford, was handed a community order and ordered to pay compensation of £1,100 to Hereford Music Shop, £82.99 to Sports Direct, and £505 to the Black Swan.
He was also fined £40 and must pay a £114 victim surcharge. No costs order was made due to his lack of means.
