Thug jailed for violent attack in Watery Lane, Hereford

Steven Mason, 33, of Rolle Street, Exmouth, was sent to prison for 10 years.

He was sentenced at Worcester Crown Court this week.

On March 27, 2021, Mason attacked six people who were gathered in and around a car parked on Watery Lane, Hereford.

Weapons were used in the attack and the victims needed hospital treatment for serious injuries, West Mercia Police said.

Following investigations, Mason, who has distinctive face tattoos, was arrested and subsequently charged with causing grievous bodily harm, violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, a spokesperson said.

He pleaded guilty to all charges.

Detective Sergeant Jim Moore said after the sentencing on Wednesday: “This was a violent attack that caused serious injuries to several people.

“We are committed to tackling violence and ensuring West Mercia is a safe place to live and work.

“We hope this sentence sends a strong message that anyone engaging in violence will be prosecuted and the consequences will be severe.”
