A HEREFORDSHIRE fare dodger has been ordered to pay hundreds of pounds after failing to buy a £3.90 train ticket.
John Bushell was proven guilty of one count of boarding a train in a non-compulsory ticket area without a valid ticket by magistrates in Barkingside, London.

The court heard the 41-year-old, who was not present at the court for the hearing, had boarded a South West Trains train at London Waterloo Station intending to travel but without purchasing a valid ticket to do so on March 11.
Bushell, who is of River View in Ross-on-Wye, was fined £220 for the offence and ordered to pay compensation of £3.90 to South West Trains by the magistrates.
He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £160 and a £34 victim surcharge.
