A BRAND-NEW shop has opened in Hereford's Bastion Mews, focusing on championing makers creating affordable crafts and gifts in the Wye Valley and throughout the UK.
The team behind the Wye Valley Makers Market opened The Makers Store in Hereford last Saturday (November 12).
They will also host a variety of creative workshops for all ages including children’s craft parties as well as offering the space out to local makers to host their own workshops from.
Adam Brierley and Jo Foy are the duo behind The Makers Store.

Co-founder Jo said: “I’ve been working as a Maker for 20 years and have seen an increasing demand and appreciation for well designed, UK made work. We started Wye Valley Makers Market in March at Shack Revolution and the markets quickly gained a loyal, local following. Over the Summer we were invited to curate the Makers Market at the Hereford River Carnival and at Camp Bestival.
"When we saw the brand new developments at Bastion Mews we knew it was the right space to create something permanent in Hereford.”
Prior to this, Adam was employed at PGL in Ross on Wye whilst Jo worked as a maker, taking part in h.Art and running pop up shops and markets at festivals and highstreets throughout the UK.
The first customer was local MP Jesse Norman who was keen to start his Christmas shopping and to mark the first transaction in a new Hereford shop.
On Wednesday, Adam and Jo welcomed Small Business Saturday, who were in Hereford to promote independent businesses.
You can find them at 3 Bastion Mews, in the courtyard outside Shack Revolution.
Opening hours are Wednesday to Saturday 10am to 3pm. Visit www.wyevalleymakers.com for more information.
