AN AUDI driver has been banned from the roads after he was caught drink-driving on a busy Herefordshire road.

Gavin Tongue was found guilty of one count of driving while over the alcohol limit and admitted one count of failing to surrender to bail when he appeared before magistrates in York in November.

The court heard that Tongue had been caught behind the wheel of a blue Audi A4 on the B4224 at Fownhope in Herefordshire on January 27.

An evidential breath test revealed he had 76 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, more than twice the legal limit of 35 microgrammes.
