A HEREFORDSHIRE town's Christmas lights have been labelled "sad" and "a joke" by unhappy locals.
Leominster Town Council organised its annual Christmas lights switch-on event which took place last Saturday (November 26).
The switch-on was held in Corn Square, where there were various other performers and entertainment. There were also fairground rides and stalls with food, drink, and gifts.
But after the lights were turned on people took to social media saying how "sad" they looked, while some streets did not have lights up at all ready for the event.

Jan Lockett, of Leominster, said the Corn Square has two lamp posts with lights and described the fun fair roundabout as "naff".
"All the other small market towns have fabulous Christmas lights which get better and better every year," said Ms Lockett.
She chased the town council on Wednesday afternoon asking why there weren't any Christmas lights in Broad Street and Drapers Lane.
"Drapers Lane is the prettiest place in town and had no lights," said Ms Lockett.

A spokesperson from Leominster Town Council said the event was a success.
Rob Parker of Pulse FX organised the entertainment, singer Keri Harris and Jordan performed and the town had a surprise visit from St. Edfrith and the Lion.
The mayor and the town councillors attended the Nativity Service in the Priory Church before escorting Mary and Joseph as part of the procession of hundreds of people into the town ready for the switch on itself.
The council would like to thank everyone involved in making this annual event happen after two years of cancellation.
