AN ATTACKER who assaulted another man by beating in Herefordshire has been handed a community order by magistrates.

Rhys Jones entered a guilty plea to one count of assault by beating when he appeared at a hearing before magistrates at Hereford's Bath Street Justice Centre in November.

The court heard from Crown Prosecution Service prosecutor Eleanor Peart that the 25-year-old defendant had assaulted a man by beating in an incident in Herefordshire on July 12.
