A THREATENING caller has been up before the magistrates after making nasty phone calls to a police emergency call centre.
Marcel Asavei was convicted of one count of sending a letter, communication, or article conveying a threatening message when he appeared before magistrates in Kidderminster in December.

The court heard from prosecutor Owen Beale that the 28-year-old had made an electronic communication, namely phone calls, which conveyed a threat for the purpose of causing distress or anxiety to the recipient or to any other person to whom he intended its contents or nature to be communicated to the West Mercia Police emergency call centre between November 30 and December 1.
Asavei, who is of Hunderton Road, Hereford, was ordered to be detained until the court rose, with magistrates saying his guilty plea had been taken into account, and with his detention deemed served by reason of time already spent in custody.
No further penalty was imposed by the court.
