THE CASE against an assault-accused Herefordshire man has been dismissed.
James Smith appeared before magistrates in Hereford in December after entering a not guilty plea to one count of assault by beating at an earlier hearing in June.
The court heard from prosecutor Paul Johns that the 29-year-old had been accused of assaulting a woman by beating in Hereford on December 12, 2021.
The case against Smith, who is of The Bines, Clehonger, was dismissed as no evidence was offered, with his costs ordered to be paid from central funds.
