A FARMER has taken on a Hereford pub after a string of managers and vowed to return it to its heyday.
Tom Williams, 31, is the new manager of Hogarths in Commercial Road.
He was born in Herefordshire and has grown up living and working on his family arable and animal mixed farm.
He said his aim is to take Hogarths back to how it “used to be” and bring back the “old” Hogarths that people knew and loved.

Over the years the pub has had several managers, but Mr Williams wants to make a real difference to the pub, he said.
He previously worked in the pub as a part of the bar team, which he believes will give him an advantage because he knows what customers want.
Since then, he said, he has been a customer himself and cares about the place.

His aim is to improve what he calls Hogarths' “slow service” and make sure it is efficient, he said.
A new team has also been employed to create a warm and friendly atmosphere.
There are plans for new gin focus ideas in hand, such as gin trees and gin trays.
The pub has had several different names in the past, including the Hop Pole and O'Neills.
