DECEMBER is a month when we’re all used to getting a box or two down from the attic to decorate the house for Christmas.
But some homeowners really go for it when it comes to the decorations.
From Bromyard to Kington and Leominster to Ross-onWye there are some homes that stand out from the rest.
One of those houses is Mark Greenhouse’s in Credenhill, near Hereford, who says the lights are better than ever before.
This year, his Elm Road house is lit up to raise money for St Michael’s Hospice – with £850 currently banked for the Bartestree-based hospice, which gives end-of-life care to patients.
That is £500 more than the 2021 total, Mr Greenhouse said.
“St Michael’s Hospice means so much to a lot of people and my family are no exception,” he said.
“The work they do and the support they give to the whole family is amazing. They rely on donations to keep going and any amount raised will mean so much.”
He said children can have their photos taken in the sleigh while playing in the snow and listening to Santa sing.
The lights will be on every night from 5pm until 9pm until January 1.
