A BUSY main road in Herefordshire has been damaged by a fire this morning.
Emergency crews were called to the A449 Worcester Road in Ledbury just before 5.30am this morning.
Police were joined at the scene by Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Malvern and Ledbury fire stations, with two fire engines attending the scene this morning (January 9).
On arrival, crews discovered a box van was well alight and that the fire had spread to hedgerow and trees, a fire service spokesperson said.

The fire was extinguished using two hosereels with one firefighter wearing breathing apparatus.
Highways were also called to the scene due to damage to the carriageway by the fire, with police also attending for traffic management with the road closed at Knapp Lane and Horse Lane Orchard.
There were no casualties in the blaze, the fire service spokesperson confirmed.
The A449 remains closed this morning.
