"Once in attendance we dealt with a grocery delivery vehicle fully involved in fire. We used Breathing apparatus and two hose reels to deal with the initial fire," a spokesperson for Ledbury fire station said.
"We requested Malvern Fire Station to attend so that we had extra water. They also helped contain the water run off from the fire which was contaminated with fuel, vehicle fluids and the milk on board.
"We covered drains and built an earth dam to contain as much as possible.
"West Mercia Police attended and helped with traffic management and organising of the vehicle recovery."
The road has remained closed today, with damage caused to the carriageway by the blaze.
