THREATS and abuse have been levelled at roads workers by drivers on a closed road in Herefordshire.
A spokesperson for Balfour Beatty Living Places, Herefordshire Council's roads contractor, said a number of their team have been threatened and abused over the closure of the C1098 Madley to Bridge Sollers road.
The road, which was closed due to flooding last week, has not yet officially reopened, but was the site of a crash this morning.

A spokesperson for the contractor this morning warned drivers not to remove road closure signage as the road has not reopened due to the flooding, with freezing conditions overnight turning conditions on the road treacherous.

It is one of a number of roads that still remain closed in Herefordshire today.
The spokesperson said abuse and threats will not be tolerated online or in person.
"Our teams are working to maximum capacity due to the weather and keeping the network operational," they said.
