A TWO-MONTH road closure in a rural Herefordshire village is part of the council's aim to improve the "health, wealth and wellbeing" of locals.
Prill Road in Ewyas Harold, in the Golden Valley, will be closed for nine weeks from Monday, January 3 for bridge strengthening works.
In a letter sent out to local residents, Herefordshire Council contractor Balfour Beatty Living Places said it was part of its continued investment into the county’s roads and public spaces.

The letter said Balfour Beatty believed this would have a "positive impact on the health, wealth and wellbeing of everyone who lives, studies, works or travels in Herefordshire".
As part of that aim, the firm said it needed to tell locals about work to improve a road bridge in the area.
It said it would be carrying out strengthening works at Prill Bridge, Ewyas Harold, and a full closure would be in force until March 31.

The fully signed diversion route is via Wern Ddu Road, C1213 Ewyas Harold, Prill Road and vice versa.
Vehicular access through the closure will not be possible, the firm said, but pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
"We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you," the letter said.
"At Balfour Beatty, we work in partnership with Herefordshire Council to minimise the impact of our work and try to keep all disruption to a minimum - we appreciate your patience."
