A MERCEDES driver has escaped a roads ban after he was caught breaking the limit in Herefordshire as it would cause a loss of business.
Nathan Berry appeared before magistrates in Worcester in January after entering a guilty plea to one count of exceeding a 50 miles per hour speed limit at an earlier hearing.
The court heard from the prosecutor that the 47-year-old had been caught breaking the limit behind the wheel of a Mercedes in a 50 miles per hour zone on the A40 at Pencraig in Herefordshire on April 26 last year.

He had been caught out on manually operated camera equipment, the court was told.
Berry, who is of Pendwyallt Road in Cardiff, was handed an £877 fine and six penalty points. He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £110 and an £88 victim surcharge.
No totting disqualification was made because, magistrates said, a roads ban would cause a loss of business, and would cause difficulties for other family members.
