AN ATTACKER who caused criminal damage to a car in Hereford has been ordered to pay compensation for the offences.
Patrick Roden entered guilty pleas to one count of assault by beating and one count of causing criminal damage to property valued under £5,000 when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford in January.
The court heard from prosecutor Eleanor Peart that the 35-year-old had assaulted a man by beating in Hereford on December 26.

He had also damaged a Volkswagen Scirocco, intending to destroy or damage it or being reckless as to whether it was destroyed or damaged, in Hereford on the same date, the court heard.
Roden, who is of Charlton Avenue in Hereford, was fined £500 for the offence with magistrates saying they had taken his guilty plea into account when deciding on the penalty.
He was also ordered to pay compensation of £100 for each offence, prosecution costs of £135, and a £180 victim surcharge, which is used to help fund services supporting victims of crime.
