AN ACCUSED man has been sent for trial after denying assault, knife possession, and public order charges.
Thomas Parkes appeared before magistrates in Hereford in February accused of one count of assault by beating, one count of possessing a knife in a public place, and one count of using threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of or provoke unlawful violence.
The court heard from prosecutor Mark Hambling that the 35-year-old is accused of assaulting a woman by beating and possessing a kitchen knife in a public place without good reason or lawful authority in Kinnersley on July 28.

He is also accused of using threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause two women to fear that immediate violence would be used against them or to provoke violence in Kinnersley on the same date.
Parkes entered not guilty pleas to the charges at the hearing.
The case was sent for trial and Parkes, of High Street in Brockmoor, Brierley Hill, was released on unconditional bail.
He will appear before magistrates in Hereford next for trial on April 17.
