THE speed limit on a main road near Hereford is set to be cut from 60mph to just 20mph while roadworks are carried out.
Herefordshire Council said it needed to slash the speed limit due to the works and the likelihood of danger to the public.
The speed limit on Canon Pyon Road, from the 60mph signs just north of Roman Road, Hereford, to the crossroads north of Elton's Marsh for Upper Lyde, would be cut to 20mph.

The majority of that stretch of road is currently 60mph, but the new temporary restriction would come into force on March 27.
It would remain in place for around three days, the council said in a public notice.
It added: "The said restriction is required due to drainage works on or near said roads and the likelihood of danger to the public while works are being carried out."
