The court heard from prosecutor Andrew Saunders that the 24-year-old had been caught driving a Peugeot Partner on the A40 at Ross-on-Wye in Herefordshire without due care and attention on May 13 last year.
Zaman, of Park Road in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, was fined £444 and received six penalty points for the offence, with magistrates saying that they had taken his guilty plea into account when imposing the sentence.
He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £110 and a £44 victim surcharge, which is used to help fund services supporting victims of crime.
