The court heard from Crown Prosecution Service prosecutor Eleanor Peart that the 64-year-old is accused of recording another person doing a private act with the intention that he would, for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, look at an image of that person doing the act, knowing that they did not consent to his making the recording with that intention, between August 1, 2021, and February 7, 2022.
Sherrard, who was represented at the hearing by defence solicitor George Cousins, entered a not guilty plea to the charge.
The case was sent for trial and Sherrard, of Moorfield Street, Hereford, was released on unconditional bail.
He will appear before magistrates in Hereford for trial on May 22.
