HAVING lived away from the city for many years, courtesy of the Royal Navy, it is with some despair that I saw some pictures on your website of proposed “developments” of Hereford.
These soulless glass, steel and concrete structures are now to be found all over the world.
Their visual unattractiveness and vacuous appearance contribute nothing to the sense of time or place in a city and obscures that which characterises the place and its history.

A measure of this visual vandalism can be experienced by visiting the ancient Hereford market site (or, on a greater scale, London).
There are plenty of architects capable of building in harmony with their surroundings and its history – surely Hereford deserves better?
