The court heard from the prosecutor that the 43-year-old had been caught out after using a handheld mobile phone while behind the wheel of a Vauxhall Vivaro van in the City of London's Upper Thames Street on August 9 last year.
Davies, of Whitehouse Drive in Kingstone, Herefordshire, was handed six penalty points and fined £220 for the offence.
He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £110 and an £88 victim surcharge, which is used to help fund services supporting victims of crime.
