THE awards just keep coming for a Leintwardine fish and chip shop which has had two secret shoppers go to sample its food.
A multi-award-winning Herefordshire fish and chip shop is celebrating again after it was named as one of the best in the UK.
The Fiddler’s Elbow also got into the top three of the National Fish and Chip awards when the results were announced in February. This award is offered by the National Federation of Fish Fryers.

“It’s just amazing,” said Linzi Morris, who has been running the shop with Dominic Eusden for the past two decades.
The latest award from Fry Magazine has the Leintwardine shop in the UK’s 50 best fish and chip takeaways.
“There are two secret shoppers who come and they take into account the quality of the food, customer service and also environmental issues,” said Ms Morris.
Other factors include online ordering. The Fiddler’s Elbow has its own app.
She added that keeping winning means the pressure is on to make sure that standards remain high.

“Although the profits might not be in fish and chips like they have in years gone by, the passion certainly is,” said Reece Head, competition organiser for Fry Magazine.
“And our awards are a testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment these operators put into running successful businesses.
“We’re seeing shops introduce vegan and gluten-free options to appeal to a wider customer base, instal self-serve kiosks and develop online ordering apps to make serving easier, invest in new frying equipment to produce better quality fish and chips, and embrace social media to engage with and reach more customers.”
