Herefordshire’s largest social landlord plans four more homes on vacant land at a large development site in Hereford.
Connexus, formerly Herefordshire Housing, has already substantially redeveloped the Oval area either side of the A465 Belmont Road to the south-west of the city along with a private housing developer.
Now it has put forward plans to build a bungalow and three “dormer bungalows” for social or affordable rent, along with nine parking spaces, on what its application describes as “leftover land from recent adjacent residential development”.

The Herefordshire Council-owned spot, at the corner of The Oval and Woodward Avenue, was used as a fenced-off construction compound during the neighbouring works, before which it was part of communal green space for now-demolished housing blocks.
Comments on the application, numbered 230849, can be made until April 19.
Connexus has, meanwhile, had work approved to apply external insulation and other heat efficiency measures to 66 of its post-war Cornish unit flats at River View, Putson, to the east of the city.
The permission required the completion of an ecological survey, which found that the presence of roosting bats in the buildings, by the river Wye, was “unlikely”.
