A HEREFORDSHIRE speeder has escaped a roads ban due to the exceptional hardship it would cause family members.
Derek Tyler entered a guilty plea to one count of exceeding a 30 miles per hour speed limit when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford in March.
The court heard from the prosecutor that the 75-year-old speeder had been caught breaking the limit on a Yamaha in a 30 miles per hour zone on the A4110 at Canon Pyon on June 25.

Tyler, of Westhope, in Herefordshire, was fined £80 for the offence and received four penalty points.
He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £90 and a £32 victim surcharge, which is used to help fund services supporting victims of crime.
No totting disqualification was made because, magistrates said, a roads ban would cause exceptional hardship for Tyler's family, who need to be transported to medical and other appointments.
