A swathe of potentially disruptive winds with gusts of up to 70mph is set to sweep across the UK, with events in Herefordshire cancelled.
The wet and wintry weather, even in the midst of the British summer time, brought a chilly start to Wednesday with sunshine and showers that may be heavy and thundery.
The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for wind, covering Northern Ireland along with London and south-east England, south-west England and Wales, on Wednesday.

While that warning doesn't cover Herefordshire, the city could still see gusts of 40mph today (Wednesday) and it has led to organisers cancelling events.
Herefordshire Children's Centres said the afternoon of Easter activities set to take place at Ross Community Garden, in Old Gloucester Road, had been pulled.
"We are sad to announce that our Easter event in Ross can not go ahead," a spokesperson said.
"This is due to the ongoing weather conditions and the ground conditions. We are so sorry about this. We are as sad as you are."
Oaker Wood Leisure, in Kingsland, near Leominster, said that it's Teen Day, featuring high ropes and paintball, had also been cancelled.
This was due to the "high winds on and off during the day".
"We are disappointed to cancel, but hope you understand that our customer and staff safety comes first," it said.

In its warning weather warning, which said strong winds with severe coastal gales could hit the south and west, the Met Office said: “West or north-west winds are expected to increase during Wednesday morning, then remain strong for much of the day.
“Gusts of 40-50mph are expected widely within the warning area, but some coastal areas, especially in parts of south and west Wales and Cornwall, could see gusts above 60-70mph during Wednesday morning.
“Outbreaks of heavy rain or showers will accompany the strong winds.”
The strong winds, low temperatures and heavy rain or showers being felt in many places is down to an Atlantic low-pressure system slowly moving eastwards across the UK.
The grip of the unsettled conditions is set to last for the rest of the week, with sunshine and heavy showers for many on Thursday and persistent rain in the south on Friday.
It is then set to become drier and brighter into the weekend, while temperatures may start to rise next week.
