A HEREFORDSHIRE woman has avoided a roads ban over the effect it would have on a dependant.
Elizabeth Alice Croysdale appeared before magistrates in Hereford in April after she was proven guilty of one count of using a vehicle on a road or public place without third party insurance.
The court heard that the 49-year-old had been caught out after getting behind the wheel of a Volkswagen on the busy A449 at Ledbury without a valid insurance policy in place on August 25.

Croysdale, of New Street in Ledbury, was fined £440 and received six penalty points for the offence.
She was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £90 and a £176 victim surcharge, which is used to help fund services supporting victims of crime.
No totting disqualification was made as, magistrates said, a roads ban would have an impact on the livelihood of a dependant of Croysdale.
